BONNERS FERRY, Idaho — Hannah England fanned 14 batters and allowed just one hit in helping Libby defeat Bonners Ferry 12-2 in a nonconference softball matchup on Monday.

Libby, 9-3 overall, scored six runs in the first inning by banging out six hits and sending 10 batters to the plate.

The Loggers had 11 hits total, two went for extra bases.

Devon Gallagher, 2 for 4, tripled in the first inning with two runners on. Abby Ennenga, 3 for 3, doubled in the third inning to drive in two more.

Khalyn Hageness also had two hits for Libby.

Libby has two Northwestern A contests later this week — at Whitefish on Friday and Saturday at home with Frenchtown.

“The girls are playing well,” Libby coach Dean Thompson said.

“We need to stay healthy and get a few conference wins to get into the state tournament.”
