Couple calls ramp confiscator's bluff

A man took a ramp away from some kids, who were jumping their bikes off of it on Woodland Road. As he left in his pickup, he reportedly told the parents to “go ahead and call the cops.” So they called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and got it back.

Out-of-season firework use reportedly hurt a Farm-to-Market Court resident’s horse. 

It was a dirty investigation, but deputies found out who owned the garbage that was lazily tossed over the fence at a county green box site.

“Aggressive” poodles were reportedly terrorizing a child on Blankenship Road. Deputies met with the pets’ owner, who agreed to keep the dogs at bay.

A Dern Draw resident described a vicious dog attack against her pet.

A man was reportedly skateboarding down the middle of Foy’s Lake Road as traffic piled up behind him. One driver advised the skateboarder of the danger, to which he replied that he’s a professional.

An unoccupied bicycle that had been sitting in a Park Avenue yard became too much for the resident, who called the Sheriff’s Office to remove it.

Someone reported a four-wheeler traveling down the Rails to Trails bike path.

One motorist heard “a lot of cows mooing and car horns honking” near Helena Flats Road. That was enough for her to call the authorities.

Deputies arrested a woman who was reportedly destroying an ex-boyfriend’s belongings with a wood splitting maul.

An Electric Avenue bar declined to serve a man, who called the Sheriff’s Office to complain. He said that “stuff was totally out of control” at the Bigfork bar, adding that in his opinion he wasn’t too intoxicated to be served. Dispatch noted that he was unable to carry on a normal conversation.

 

A Vans Avenue resident thought it  was suspicious that the same truck kept parking in an empty lot near the resident’s house. The Columbia Falls Police Department’s investigation found that it was a neighbor who didn’t have access to his house and was waiting until he could get in.

 

After having an “episode” as a result of some medication, a woman called the Whitefish Police Department to tell officers that those particular meds are “bad for you.”

 

Reports of a “vicious dog” that attacked another dog turned out to be a bit different when the Kalispell Police Department showed up a First Avenue West address. For one thing, the Rottweiler was just 6 months old and playful. The man who made the report also admitted to kicking the pup afterwards, which police said “seems like an overreaction.”

A lonesome dog that was found in a North Main Street hotel wasn’t registered in any room. Thankfully, its owner was.

A man broke into a Third Avenue East North home, damaging the door and asking about someone named Josh. The resident yelled at the intruder, who was later arrested by police.

The driver of a big rig reportedly kept on truckin’ after nearly hitting a busload of kids on Montana 206.

A man was suspected of jamming his sweatshirt pockets full of candy and walking out of a Third Avenue East North business, according to a report.
