Golf: Potkonjak wins Blackfoot Invite
SEELEY-SWAN — Bigfork’s Joseph Potkonjak shot a 2-over-par 74 to win the Seeley-Swan Blackfoot Invite golf tournament on Tuesday at Double Arrow Golf Course. The Bigfork boys finished in second place as a team, 11 strokes behind Missoula Loyola.
Potkonjak’s round gave him a two-stroke victory on Seeley-Swan’s Micah Nicholas. Eureka’s Chase Bohne finished sixth with a 10-over 82. Bigfork’s Ryder Trent tied for 10th at 85 with Ronan’s Fisher Niemeyer.
Augie Emslie finished in 14th for the Vikings.
The Loyola girls were the only team to qualify a score at the meet, placing the top three golfers and five of the top seven.
Ronan’s Brooklyn Olson finished fourth, shooting a 101. Bigfork’s Kali Meagher was sixth with a 106 and Melissa Paulsen ninth at 120.
Bigfork will play the St. Regis Invite on Thursday ahead of divisional play next week.
