Tennis: C-Falls netters split with Whitefish
COLUMBIA FALLS — Emily Getts turned in another dominating performance for Columbia Falls and teammates Sydney Grilley and Morgan Stenger won at No. 2 doubles, but Whitefish prevailed in the other outings to claim a 5-2 Northwestern A dual victory on Thursday afternoon.
Getts, who is undefeated, rolled 6-2, 6-0.
“She just doesn’t make mistakes,” Columbia Falls coach Gene Marcille said.
“She’s a good tennis player.”
Marcille was pleased with the showing by Grilley and Stenger. They won 6-2, 6-2.
“They are new to the game,” he said.
“They are getting better and better.”
Columbia Falls has dual action Saturday in Polson with Polson and Stevensville.
Whitefish hosts the Flathead JV on Monday and Polson on Thursday.

It was all Whitefish as the Bulldogs won every match in two sets.
Eric Holdhusen and Cole Turgeon both won 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 3-4 singles.
“After a lot of good competition in the Bitterroot last weekend, we were really tuned up for this match,” Whitefish coach Chris Schwaderer said.
“All the guys were really sharp and very efficient. I feel that we are setting ourselves up for the divisional tournament. Hopefully, we will be finding the right doubles combinations and peaking at the right time.”
Columbia Falls has dual action Saturday in Polson with Polson and Stevensville.
