Maybe not the best way to get a ride

A man allegedly offered a woman $50 for a ride to the airport from a U.S. 93 North location. He assured the woman that he was “not a rapist; maybe an ax murderer.” The woman denied the request and called Kalispell Police Department.

Police received a report of some kids cavorting atop a Northwest Lane School. Officers were unable to locate the suspects.

A break-in was reported at a U.S. 2 West storage shed. The owner said he had the suspects on camera, but the security camera was stolen.

A medical response was called for an apparently drunken man who was seen lying in the road near East Idaho Street.

One man was arrested and a woman was taken to the police station after an alleged altercation on North Main Street. A handgun was also confiscated in the incident.

There was a report of a driver flipping people off and swerving near Two Mile Drive.

A kayak was reportedly stolen off of a vehicle on First Street West.

A woman called the 911 emergency line because somebody had stolen her phone the previous night.

A radar detector and some change were allegedly taken from a vehicle on First Avenue West. The owner took the call as an opportunity to also complain about kids who rev their engines in a nearby parking lot.


 

Someone walked up to a Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputy to complain about foul-mouthed youths. The deputy located four alleged oral offenders and counseled them on respectful public candor.

A Beartrap Road resident reportedly captured a bat that was hanging out on her tomato plant. She told dispatch that she’d take care of it herself.

Housekeeping at a Montclair Drive hotel reportedly walked in on a pair of customers who had drugs out on the bed. Deputies were advised of the report.

There was an attempted burglary report at some East Cottonwood Drive storage units. A passerby made the call. Upon arrival, deputies found some people trying to lawfully enter their own storage unit.

A resident at Cascade Avenue reported that he has an ongoing problem with someone knocking on his door during the overnight hours. He said he has been sitting up and waiting with a loaded gun recently. He called back to say that he had just heard tapping on his door.

There was a report of shoplifting from a Going-to-the-Sun Road gift shop.

Trash was reportedly flying out of the back of a pickup traveling down Stoner Loop.

Shots were heard around the Herron Park area. One Foys Lake Road resident said that a bullet crossed the driveway.

One caller reported that her nephew may have broken into her vacant Lodgepole Drive cabin. The caller wasn’t sure she wanted to press charges.

A man called the sheriff’s office to have an unwanted woman removed from the Jellison Road house. The man’s wife disagreed, however, and it was left as a civil dispute.

A black pug dog was found in the Many Lakes Drive area. The pup was turned over the county shelter.

Employees at a West Idaho Street business told deputies that a man came into the store and was barely able to walk. He then took off in a white sports car.

A man called and was “frantic” because he was nearly out of gas and a reckless van was chasing him on U.S. 2. Another caller said that the driver of the van robbed somebody.

One caller reported that his son, some other kids and his wife were drinking at a White Bird Trail home. During the call, someone yelled expletives at the man.


 

The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to extinguish a camper on fire on Fourth Avenue East.


 

The theft of a 100-foot hose and a pair of pliers was reported from West Third Street, according to the Whitefish Police Department.

One caller wondered aloud to dispatch why his Wisconsin Avenue neighbors were allowed to play music at a high volume.

A barred screen door reportedly stopped a burglar from entering an East First Street property.


 

After getting into a fight the previous night, a Diane Road resident told the Columbia Falls Police Department that his family has been harassed by the other party.

One person walking down the street was allegedly given a license plate. That person turned it into the police station.

Two men were cited and released following an alcohol-fueled fight on Fourth Avenue West.
