Sedated man drives himself home after surgery

 Someone called to report a patient from a Commons Way medical facility had just driven away while he was heavily sedated, despite a planned ride that was en route to pick him up.

Someone called Kalispell Police to report she had stepped on a live bat on the sidewalk by a downtown restaurant and wanted it removed from the street. Animal control was unable to locate the bat.

A wallet was reported stolen from a Claremont Street doctor’s office.

A Kalispell resident said someone had been writing checks that had been stolen from the caller.

A man was charged with driving under the influence after passing out at a stop light on U.S. 2.

A gang of skateboarders was reportedly giving a store manager a hard time behind the store after the business had closed. The caller believed the skateboarders were on drugs.

A dance studio owner reported someone had opened several utility boxes on the side of the building.

After going on a date with a man she had met on an online dating website, a woman called police to report her discovery that he was wanted in Idaho for theft, sexual assault and molestation. She told police she would reach out to them again if she made plans to meet with him again.

A woman called to report her scooter had been stolen from her front yard. The woman later found the scooter at a restaurant parking lot but her helmet was missing.

A woman reported a man in a pink shirt holding an open beer in front of a restaurant, and wanted police to hurry before the man left the scene. When an officer arrived, the only thing he was holding was a cellphone.


The Whitefish Police Department fielded a call about a package containing a handmade quilt that had been stolen from her front porch before she got home to receive the delivery.

A Whitefish resident called to report her 15-year-old son had stolen her husband’s prescription medications.

A woman complained that her ex-boyfriend had taken a few gifts he had given her before the break-up. She didn’t want to file a theft report but wanted police to know in case someone turned the property over to police.

Someone called to report a noisy hot-tub party behind her house.

A bartender on Central Avenue reported an unruly patron who refused to leave. The bouncer kept the customer at a distance until police arrived. No one was arrested.


A resident called Columbia Falls Police Department about a man riding his bike with his dog. The man had been yelling at the dog that he would kill it and had stopped to beat the dog. The caller thought the cyclist was “messed up in the head” and wanted police to investigate.

A business was vandalized overnight and trash was left around the building’s exterior. The caller told dispatch that the vandalism had become an ongoing issue.

One of four youths was reported for shooting another one of the group members with an Airsoft gun. The victim declined medical assistance and did not want to press charges.
