Starling Lee Lindsey, 82

| August 22, 2015 9:15 PM

S. “Lee” Lindsey was born Feb. 29, 1932, and raised in Somers.

Lee served in the Navy and worked for Petrolane Gas where he was promoted to vice president of foreign affairs. Lee traveled most of the world and later formed his own oil and gas consultation company with his wife, Mary Aliene Johnson. Though he moved away from Somers, Lee regularly sought to enjoy his Montana lifestyle of hunting, fishing, horseback riding and hiking.

On July 25, 2014, he passed away peacefully in Houston. Lee had many friends and was always a wise, loving, gentle guiding force for his family. He is profoundly missed and dearly loved.

On Aug. 3, 2014, nine days later, his youngest son, Montgomery Dean Lindsey, suddenly passed away and his eldest son, Starling Marc Lindsey passed away May 31, 2015. His children requested to have their ashes spread at “Hillcrest,” the Lindsey home in Somers, where they cherished many memories with their father and grandparents, Starling Wayne Lindsey and Ruby Lindsey-Johnson.

Lee is survived by his wife, “MaryAl”; children, John Steven Lindsey, Susan Lindsey, Michaela Lindsey, Steve Johnson and Laurie Leven; and brother, Kent Lindsey and family; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Vista Linda to share memories from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27. Call Susan at 916-554-0044 for information.
