Another day of poor air quality from wild fires in Montana and the Pacific Northwest resulted in more cancellations around the state for high school sports on Saturday.

Two Class A football games originally scheduled for Friday — Columbia Falls at Corvallis and Browning at Polson — were rescheduled for Saturday evening, but were canceled for a second-straight day and will not be rescheduled.

The Browning at Polson game was to be played at Montana Tech on Saturday in hopes air conditions would be better in Butte.

A Class AA soccer jamboree in Great Falls featuring Great Falls High, C.M. Russell, Missoula Sentinel, Missoula Hellgate and Glacier was not held and will not be rescheduled. The same scenario involved Flathead soccer in Helena versus Billings West and Billings Skyview.

The Libby Invitational cross country outing, featuring Bigfork, Columbia Falls, Glacier, Whitefish and other schools, was called off. It has been rescheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Hamilton at Libby girls soccer match was called in the 60th minute with Hamilton up 2-0. No information was available from the boys match.

Class B Bigfork, which was to open its football season on Friday with Florence, has rescheduled that game for Monday at 5 p.m. in Bigfork.
