Caller reports possible flower thief

A Kalispell Avenue resident called Whitefish Police Department to report that someone had stolen flowers from in front of their house.

A Wisconsin Avenue business employee called to report that the business next door was playing loud music and refused to turn it down.

A resident on Monterra Avenue called police after they heard what sounded like someone trying to open the front door. The caller couldn’t see anyone near the front door or in the yard from the window, and asked police for a drive-by.

An employee of a Nucleus Avenue store called Columbia Falls Police Department about a young man suspected of shoplifting who had left store property on an orange bike.

A Third Avenue resident called police when a man she knew allegedly started throwing things around her house. The caller didn’t know what started his rampage, but he calmed down after realizing she had called the police.

A Columbia Falls man called police when he wanted another man’s things removed from his apartment. The guest had only been there one night, the caller said, but he believed his guest was mentally ill and was worried for his own safety. The caller reportedly told the officer over the phone that he should go to California to “learn from real law enforcement down there,” and that he would get a gun from his friend’s house to defend himself if the officer didn’t come remove the guest’s things immediately. The officer was only able to leave a voicemail on the guest’s cell phone.


A Fifth Avenue resident called Kalispell Police Department about a smoke detector beeping throughout the night. Kalispell Fire Department responded and found the smoke detector was beeping because of a bad battery.

A man was reported breaking into an Airport Road storage unit and leaving on a woman’s bicycle.

A woman called police to report that someone started a rumor about her being a lesbian. The caller confirmed she is not, in fact, a lesbian, and wanted to file a complaint against the alleged storyteller.

An employee at a First Avenue business called police to report a syringe found in the parking lot.

Someone called police to report a man outside a Meridian Road business talking to himself about cutting off someone’s arm.

Someone called in about a man on Main Street, who they assumed to be high on drugs after seeing the man allegedly punching himself in the stomach and swearing loudly.

Kalispell Police Department shut down a loud game of football at a schoolyard after two people called in a noise complaint.

A female transient reportedly left a few belongings in front of a business on U.S. 93.

Someone allegedly broke into a Center Street residence, stole a few things and left the garage a mess.

An employee at a Kalispell golf course called police to report three men “writing graffiti” in the sand traps and stealing range balls.

A resident on U.S. 2 called police to report someone in a brown pickup truck shot at them.

A bicycle was reported stolen from in front of a Fourth Avenue business.

Someone allegedly stole several items from a Main Street store over a 48-hour time period.
