A woman on Martha Road reported to Columbia Falls Police that her son was supposed to be under house arrest but that he took off for a friend’s house in Hungry Horse. The teen allegedly posted on Facebook that he intended to steal a car or hitchhike to get to the friend’s house.

A second victim reported having his or her windows smashed and guns taken from a vehicle while parked on Nucleus Avenue a few days earlier.

A woman found a credit card on the ground near Sixth Street West and turned it over to an officer, who in turn, returned it to the owner’s bank for a safe return.

A man and a woman could not be located by an officer after the duo was spotted hiding packages in their jackets at the post office.

A man was taken down by a Taser after someone reported that the man was shirtless and running around on U.S. 2 East by some Christmas trees. The person who called in said he had initially ignored the man, but the man approached while the man was on the phone with dispatch. The man tried to fight the caller and the phone ended up on the ground. The dispatcher concluded that the man had started cussing and chasing the caller. Officers were able to catch the man.

A man was arrested after hitting a pregnant woman in the stomach, causing her to vomit. An ambulance was called for the woman. The man also allegedly hit another man during the dispute on U.S. 2.

Eleven guns were reported stolen from a gun safe at a home. The owner believed the guns may have been stolen as early as February.


Flathead Sheriff’s deputies helped a man on Foothill Road who reported that he thought a neighbor was trying to sabotage the sale of a home by freezing the pipes.

 Deputies responded to Montana 206 near Columbia Falls after a woman reported that she had paid $2,250 to a roofing company two months ago, but that the company’s workers had only stripped her roof and put on a tarp. The workers had not returned since.

A woman on Pine Needle Drive in Lakeside reported that she was still receiving threatening messages from a subject in California. She made another report the day before. The woman was told to print the threats so that authorities could make a note of them.

A 7-year-old boy was found by an employee of a business on Western Village Lane walking in the highway. The boy told the worker that his father was home asleep and his mother was at work. The boy was given a ride home, and his father said he would take the boy to school.

A woman on Star West Trail in Kila said that she had bought firewood from a man a month ago, but that the wood had not yet been delivered.

Five storage units were broken into on U.S. 93 in Lakeside, after thieves cut the locks.

A woman called dispatch and voiced her concern that deputies leave their patrol cars in front of their homes. The woman said she prays a lot for her community and against terrorism. Despite this woman’s concern, the idea of parking police cars in neighborhoods is actually meant to increase the sense of security.

A woman at a business on U.S. 2 reported that staff had found digital camera equipment in a women’s restroom and wanted to turn it in.

A report was forwarded to Missoula County after someone claimed that a fugitive from the law might be hiding in the mountains. The person wanted a thorough search of the mountains done to find the man.


Whitefish Police took a report from a man who said that his mailbox and several others on Dakota Avenue had been smashed with a bat.


Kalispell Police were dispatched after a school custodian reported that a man was urinating in public just outside of the school.

A parent on Fourth Avenue West wanted an officer to come over and check the age of a girl that the parent’s 18-year-old son was hanging out with at the house. The parent said that the son was not a sex offender, but that the son had a history of dating 15-year-old girls.  

A woman was cited for possession of dangerous drugs and shoplifting after deli meat was stolen from a store on Hutton Ranch Road.

A man called from a residence on Fifth Street West and said that he was hiding beneath his bed because he thought someone was in his house. An officer was unable to find anyone in the home.

A woman was given advice on how to arrange a property exchange at Sixth Avenue East North. The woman had her former boyfriend’s phone and the former boyfriend had her hair straightener, and both were reluctant to return the items.

One woman walked away with a cut to the nose and another woman suffered a back injury in a fight of six people reported at a bar and casino southwest of town.

A construction site at a church on Liberty Street was burglarized.

A man tried to get a sand and gravel permit on Timberwolf Parkway and was not shy about being anti-government in his interactions with staff. The man allegedly told the worker who helped him that she was lucky he was a pastor, or he would come in with his guns. The worker said the man was big and intimidating.

A woman on North Meridian Road reported a dispute with her fiance that involved children.
