The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who held an assisted living facility worker at gunpoint Monday night in an attempt to steal prescription drugs.

“A male went into the Closer Than Home rest home at St. Ignatius, pulled a gun on the worker and wanted narcotic drugs,” Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said Tuesday morning. “The worker showed them that there was no narcotic drugs and he put them face down on the ground and then fled on foot.”

The worker reported hearing a loud car muffler in the distance a short time later. The incident occurred around 10 p.m.

Bell said the worker described the gunman as in his 20s, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a slim build and light skin. The man was wearing a bandanna at the time of the incident.

“We would appreciate any tips that could help get this solved,” Bell said. Tips can be sent to (406) 883-7301.
