Kids in diapers? A messy situation

Columbia Falls Police were asked to respond after a woman reported that two small children were running around in diapers near Ninth Street West. The woman wanted to make sure the children did not end up in the street. The woman then located someone she believed was in charge of the children.

Teenagers allegedly fled a vehicle they were in that collided with boulders near a bridge on Third Avenue West. The teens allegedly originally asked a woman if she could pull them out of their predicament. She called 911 for help.

Flathead Sheriff’s deputies responded to Klondyke Loop in Somers after a woman reported that she found nude photos on her 6-year-old son’s cell phone. The child had allegedly been touched inappropriately by an older 9-year-old boy.

A woman on Larch Lane who was in the process of buying a home reported that squatters had moved in on the property and were believed to have stolen a refrigerator and stove. The woman said that the squatters may have had a rental agreement with the previous owners, but that they had not paid rent.

A man on Myers Lane in Bigfork reported that he had left a package to be mailed next to his mailbox, but believed it had been stolen before the mail carrier arrived. The man said his grandchildren’s Christmas presents were in the package.

A rifle was reported stolen from Canyon Road.

A paper rack was stolen from Shady Lane.

A man on Ridgewood Drive came home to find that his truck was missing. He had removed the tires and had the vehicle up on blocks. A neighbor said a tow truck might have taken the vehicle.

A man in West Glacier reported that he saw four flashes of blue light and the sky just before power went out in the area.


Whitefish Police were called after someone traveling U.S. 93 reported that another driver had thrown a rock at their vehicle window.

An officer helped direct traffic as a log truck driver re-loaded logs that had spilled on U.S. 93.
