WRESTLING: Libby splits pair of duals

LIBBY — In its first two duals of the season, the Libby wrestling team pinned down a pair of quick meets against Bonners Ferry and Whitefish on Tuesday.

The Greenchain earned pins in three of eight contested classes against Bonners Ferry and a major decision in a fourth, falling to the Badgers 42-28.

Buddy Doolin, in 3 minutes, 30 seconds at 113 pounds; Mason Sames in 1:30 at 120; and Reed Christensen, in 3:00 at 145, all earned pins for Libby. Dylan Parrish won 10-0 by major decision to earn four more team points for the Greenchain, which also won an open class.

Bonners Ferry had four pins and three forfeits to pad its lead.

The Greenchain got back in form against Whitefish, with three more pins to beat the Bulldogs 39-36.

Doolin remained consistent with another pin in 3:30 as Tanner Wood, at 152 in 1:59, and Parrish, at 160 in 1:10, also picked up falls. Libby won two classes by forfeit and Laine Young earned a decision at 138 pounds.

Whitefish got four pins, from Parker McWhirter at 120, Brooks Krause at 145, Konrad Zinke at 170 and Triston Knopp at 182, to go along with three forfeits to nearly post a victory.
