Cora Lynne (Torpen) Hoye, 54

Cora Lynne (Torpen) Hoye passed away in her home on Dec. 8, 2015, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She fought a long and hard battle, but never let it slow her down. Throughout her journey, she was always optimistic and never gave up. Her smile and humor will always be with us.

Cora was born to Chester and Carol Torpen on Dec. 13, 1960, and grew up in Martin City. She was the third of four siblings. She graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1979 and went on to attend college at Great Falls Commercial College.

On August 26, 1983, Cora married Henry Hoye and raised two children, Amy and Torri. The family resided in Columbia Falls.

Cora had a successful career in banking. She enjoyed many positions, from being a teller to a compliance officer, she excelled in all aspects of her career. Outside of work, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family doing the things she loved. She enjoyed many outdoor activities like hiking, biking, boating and running. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and every free moment was spent with them. Cora was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She was caring and compassionate for those close to her.

Cora was preceded in death by her grandparents; dad, Chester Torpen; and husband, Henry Hoye.

Cora is survived by her daughter Amy Orem and husband, Beau; her daughter Torri Dayley and husband, Bryce; her mother, Carol Torpen; her brother Tom and wife, Kim; her brother Scott and wife, Connie; her sister, Laurel Clanton; her three grandchildren, Henry and Madison Orem and Blake Dayley; in-laws, Art and Lou Hoye; sister-in-law Bonita Minisssale and husband, Joe; sister-in-law Sheryl Lockwood and husband, Mark; sister-in-law Karen McRenyolds and husband, Charlie; as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be a private burial for the family. A celebration of life will take place at 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, at the Fellowship Alliance in Columbia Falls. There will be a reception to follow.
