Groups release avalanche video

Several local groups have collaborated on a 30-second avalanche safety video to encourage skiers, snowmobilers and others recreating in the backcountry during winter to take advantage of free avalanche safety programs.

Called “Don’t Let This Be Your Last Ride,” it’s a collaboration among the Flathead Avalanche Center, Flathead County Search and Rescue Association and North Valley Rescue Association.

All three groups work closely to provide community services in avalanche education, forecasting and emergency response.

The Flathead Avalanche Center is a partnership involving the Flathead National Forest, Glacier National Park and Friends of the Flathead Avalanche Center.
