Star Wars fans have waited a long 10 years since the last film in the space saga was released in theaters.

The massively hyped “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens this week in Kalispell and Whitefish theaters.

Only four show times still are available on Thursday’s opening day for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at the Signature Stadium 14 in Kalispell. Three of the shows are in the 3-D theater at 7:30 and 11:40 p.m. Thursday and 12:01 a.m. Friday. The last regular film screening on Thursday is at 11 p.m.

Six other “Star Wars” screenings on Thursday are sold out at the Kalispell theater.

On Friday there are still 16 available screenings between the 3-D and regular theaters at Signature Stadium 14.

At Whitefish’s Mountain Cinemas, tickets are on sale for Thursday 7 and 9:30 p.m. showings of the new "Star Wars" movie.

Advance tickets also are on sale for Friday screenings of the film at Mountain Cinemas.
