LETTER: Night of Lights better than ever

| December 17, 2015 11:00 AM

Hats off to the Columbia Falls community for making the 30th annual Night of Lights an awesome celebration on Dec. 4!

The Rotary Parade had over 50 entries and lasted nearly an hour. The quality of floats was the best ever. A special moment was having the founders of the Night of Lights honored with a ride in the parade. The craft fairs and the music presentations at the craft venues were also a success. Events at The Co-op at O’Brien’s made for a great new component of the evening.

I wish to thank all those who contributed to the success of the Night of Lights. Many individuals, businesses, school groups, service organizations, churches and the city of Columbia Falls made it happen. It was a community effort that brought out the best in us. A special thanks to the steering committee members: O’Brien Byrd, Patrick McCracken and Columbia Falls Rotary, Cindy Shaw, Susan Nicosia, Jenny Krueger, Diane Dobson and Victoria Lee.

Thanks to all who came out and enjoyed the evening. If you missed it, you’re invited to come join us next year at the Columbia Falls Night of Lights! —Peggy Newman, Columbia Falls
