BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Libby girls tip Thompson Falls, boys get payback

THOMPSON FALLS — Libby outscored Thompson Falls 21-9 in the second half to pull away for a 36-23 District 7B girls basketball victory Friday night.

Libby held a 15-14 lead at the half.

Shannon Reny led the Loggers in scoring with 11 points. Madison Mangold contributed 10.

Shey Hannum had 11 for Thompson Falls.

RONAN — Lee Camel tallied 24 points and Alicia Camel was next with 23 as Ronan blasted St. Ignatius in a District 6B matchup.

Ronan (2-2, 1-0) bolted to a 35-6 lead after eight minutes of play and held a commanding 46-13 advantage at the intermission.

Both Camels scored 12 points in the first quarter.

Lee Camel also led the team in rebounding with seven. Micalann McCrea had five rebounds for the winners.

Tianna Brown led St. Ingatius in scoring with 10 points.

RONAN — Ezekiel Misa led a balanced Ronan attack with 15 points in a District 6B victory over St. Ignatius.

Aaron Misa added 14 points and Kasey Mock contributed 13 for Ronan (3-1, 1-0)

St. Ignatius was led by Bill VanHoltun, who scored a game-high 18.

Ronan capitalized at the free-throw line, hitting 13 of 14 attempts. St. Ignatius was 6 of 17.

THOMPSON FALLS — Libby battled back in the second half of a District 6B contest, but fell six points short.

Libby outscored Thompson Falls 28-21 in the final half.

Jonny Cielak and Ryggs Johnston tallied 14 and 13 points, respectively for Libby.

Joe Frields had 19 and Trais Hoisington 13 for Thompson Falls.
