The new fad? 'You've got mailbox!'

A woman on Parliament Drive in Kalispell reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Department that a stray mailbox was found in the back of her daughter’s pickup truck. There was no explanation as to why the mailbox was there.

Parties were counseled at a home in Bigfork where a teenage girl reported that her younger brother had been threatening to come and slash the family’s tires and damage the house. The boy’s mother’s boss then reported that he had called her place of work and allegedly threatened to kill everyone in the business and himself. An investigating deputy and patrolman found that the boy’s mother said that the boy had not issued threats. The mother said someone else had threatened the boy and allegedly told the boy to go kill himself. The boy admitted to making inappropriate comments, but said that he did not have intentions of killing himself.

A guest cabin was burglarized off Cramer Creek Road in Somers. Guns and ammunition were stolen.

A road sign was knocked off U.S. 2 in Columbia Falls in a vehicle slide-off where the driver was not injured.


A ski box was taken to Whitefish Police Department for safekeeping after it fell off a vehicle.


A man on Bobtail cutoff Road told the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department that he heard an explosion and suspected that a power transformer had blown. A deputy could not identify the cause of the sound.


Kalispell Police responded to 10th Avenue West where three tires were slashed on a vehicle.

An officer told a man he was no longer welcome at his ex-girlfriend’s residence on Seventh Avenue East. The woman called to report the man was trying to beat in her door. The two had broken up two days earlier.

An officer confiscated a knife from a man on Liberty Street after the man called and said that he planned to attack a person in the next couple of hours when that person arrived at someone else’s house. The man was taken to the emergency room.

Parties were counseled on Appleway Drive after neighbors got into a physical altercation.

A man was told to not come back to Windward Way after a dispute over a dog escalated to the point where the man threatened to bring a gun to the residence to resolve the issue.
