Suspected drunken driver leaves the scene

Whitefish Police responded to Lupfer Avenue where a 1992 Isuzu Trooper was stuck in a snow berm in the middle of the roadway.  A black flask, six-pack container of Smirnoff Ice mixed drink beverages and a can of alcohol were found outside the rear passenger door of the vehicle. No one was present, but the officer decided to cite the registered owner of the vehicle and put a hold on it with the tow company so officers could talk with the owner later about what had happened.

A man skiing on Big Mountain had a bummer of a Christmas Day phone call waiting after him after a water pipe in his home burst and flooded a building on Shiloh Avenue.


Columbia Falls Police gave someone a ride from Ninth Street West to a nearby restaurant after his or her vehicle became lodged in snow.
