Man reports truck stolen after week

Flathead County Sheriff’s Department took a report from a man whose friend had jumped in his truck and took off with it a week earlier. The truck’s owner said he did not want to get the friend in trouble, but was ready to have his truck back. The man said he thought the truck was in a garage off Skookum Road. He filed a stolen vehicle report.

A herd of mules was reported blocking Montana 82. The brand inspector was called for help with the mules, which are repeat escapees.

A woman on Daley Lane reported that her family members were receiving threats via a social media site after her son reportedly stole money from two kids at school. The woman said the money issue had been resolved, but that she suspected the anonymous threats were coming from the schoolchildren.

A woman on Kuhns Road was told to block a number that was sending her threatening messages. The woman told dispatchers several theories about the origin of the threats, which seemed to revolve around various trysts, sexual assaults and other awful behavior.

A man on Wintercrest Drive was panicked after searching for an hour for a 3-year-old last seen in only a diaper. He called back to dispatch to report that the child had been found hiding underneath a bed.

A man allegedly pulled a knife on someone at a bar in Olney according to a caller to dispatch, but further details were not provided.

A person in Columbia Falls reported that he or she had found diesel on the ground and a gas cap off of a truck. The person believed that someone had been stealing gas from the vehicle for a while.

A man called to report that his guns that were checked onto a flight to Maryland had never shown up. Airport staff told dispatch that an effort was underway to find out what had happened to the guns, but that there was no indication the firearms had been stolen.

A man on Beach Road in Bigfork called to say that deputies were not doing their jobs by letting the Central Intelligence Agency conduct surveillance on him.


A person on 10th Avenue West was counseled by a Kalispell Police officer after the person’s glove box was found open. The person said a person had been walking in his or her driveway the night before.

A woman on Third Avenue East North reported that she had lost her wallet, which she thought had a payroll check inside. The woman was able to find the check, but had to cancel all of her bank cards.

An officer told a woman on Hilltop Avenue to check in with the city’s sewage department after he verified that her complaint of an unpleasant stench in the air was valid.

A casino worker asked that an officer come and retrieve a bag of white rocky powder that was found by a customer in a plastic baggie in the parking lot of the business.

An officer discovered that a woman was in a disagreement with her husband after a caller reported seeing the husband in a car, following the wife down East Idaho Street. The woman said she had a cellphone and would call for assistance if she needed anything.

A woman was told that she was not allowed back in a business on Third Avenue East North after she hit an employee in the face. The woman was escorted out for being disorderly.


Whitefish Police were unable to locate a suspected intoxicated pedestrian on Wisconsin Avenue who was allegedly almost hit by an oncoming motorist.


Columbia Falls Police were unable to locate a man who allegedly took off from a fuel station with an armful of beer and wine.


Whitefish Mountain Resort workers backboarded a 17-year-old boy who passed out and fell nearly 20 feet from a lift in the early morning. The teen was practicing with a team and had injured his thumb in a previous run, resort spokesperson Riley Polumbus said. The pain from the thumb injury caused the teen to pass out and fall into a soft pillow of snow. The teen was checked out at the hospital and was doing fine and sustained no additional injuries from the fall.
