Finley Point reservations begin Jan. 6

Montana State Parks has announced that Finley Point State Park will be open for reservations for the 2016 camping season beginning Jan. 6.

Reservations can be made by visiting stateparks.mt.gov or by calling 877-922-6768.

Reservations were not available this fall since a park construction project was tentatively scheduled for spring 2016.

The construction project at Finley Point State Park follows an environmental assessment and public comment that was completed in 2013. The project will include new vault latrines, a reconfiguration of the recreational-vehicle campsites and the addition of new tent sites. The project is expected to proceed in fall 2016 after the reservation season has ended.

New for 2016, boat slips will also be available for reservations. The current boat slips have been renumbered and boaters now have the opportunity to rent boat slips prior to arriving at the park. There will still be some available on a first-come, first-served basis.
