H. William 'Bill' Armstrong, 78

H. William "Bill" Armstrong, 78, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at Genesis Health Care in Whitefish.

Bill was born on Feb. 14, 1936, in Salamanca, New York, to Harold and Elaine (Higbee) Armstrong.

Bill worked for the U.S Forest Service as a civil engineer and was a professional outfitter. He liked fishing, hunting, trapping, woodworking and anything outdoors.

Bill was also a volunteer firefighter for the Coram-West Glacier Fire Department.

Bill is survived by his wife, Peggy Armstrong; children, Aleisa and Rick Stevens, Peggy Peterson, Bill and Dee Armstrong, and Martin Armstrong; sister, Marlene Hutchinson; grandchildren, Miranda, Leslee, Carol, Lauren, Marty, Steven, Angelica, Shannon and Heather; and great-grandchildren, Derek, Brooklyn, Kaitlyn, Easton, Cole, Ava and Grace.

A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at Hungry Horse Elementary School.
