Caryl Joy Empie, 82

Caryl Joy Empie, formerly of Lewistown, passed away in Columbia Falls on Feb. 6, 2015, after a battle with lung cancer.  

She was born Oct. 29, 1932, in Derrick, North Dakota, to Vern and Esther (Anderson) Clover.

She is survived by her five children, Robert of Kalispell, Brian of Kalispell, Terri and Bryan Block of Kalispell, Lynda and Joe Peters of Columbia Falls, and Brad and Theresa of Lewistown. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Empie.

Caryl enjoyed hiking with friends in Glacier National Park. She also enjoyed animals and was especially passionate about dogs, as evidenced by her 20-plus years of operating Glengarry Kennels.

Cremation has taken place.  

At her request, there will be no funeral services, but a private family memorial will be held at a later date.
