Seller's remorse turns car deal sour

| February 24, 2015 7:44 PM

It was a case of seller’s remorse in a vehicle sale reported to Kalispell Police. A woman had bought a car from a friend for $350, but the seller later wanted it back due to parental disapproval. The seller didn’t want to return the money to the woman, however, which resulted in the call to the police. Police advised that it was a civil issue, but in some respects it appears more uncivil.

Two males were reportedly fighting on East Idaho Street while a “bunch of people” watched. An officer met up with the suspects and found that there was no fight and they were just “play-acting.” Maybe we will all be able to see it when it goes viral on YouTube?

After reading yesterday’s report of a woman’s call about a moon-like object in the sky, another woman called on Tuesday to back up those claims. She told police that she saw the object slowly drop and disappear and stated that it “definitely wasn’t the moon.”

A man reported that six women who “barely speak English” were waiting on a taxi that didn’t show up on U.S. 93 North. They were “not dressed for the weather,” according to the report, so someone offered to let them warm up in a vehicle until police arrived.

A woman grew suspicious of her boyfriend when she found a picture of herself in his jacket pocket. The photo was supposed to be locked in a safe, so she called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office about the possibility that he stole other items.

An employee of a Montana 35 business reported that he found a “bag of crack” in the bathroom.

A woman called the sheriff’s office because her child’s bike might be on the neighbor’s property. She didn’t want to ask the neighbor herself because he is “grouchy.”

Someone reported that a ferret on Eckelberry Drive near Columbia Falls was “on its deathbed, not being fed and living in filth.” A deputy responded and noted that the ferret was “alert and appeared healthy.” The owners were advised on good pet living conditions.

A deputy escorted a man from a business on U.S. 2 East near Kalispell after he was reported to be sleeping in a stall for nearly four hours.

After buying a car from someone through Craigslist, a Ferndale Drive resident said that the car hasn’t been delivered and the seller is nowhere to be found. Deputies responded and the woman planned to speak with the online service.

After a Rapids Avenue couple co-signed on a vehicle for their child, they asked the Columbia Falls Police Department about repossessing it because the child wasn’t making payments.
