This relationship goes over a cliff
A woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to say her fiance picked up her vehicle with an excavator and threw it over a cliff. She didn’t know why her husband-to-be did this, but she suspected that it was on purpose.
An ice rescue crew was dispatched to McWenneger Slough after someone called and said somebody might need help. The passer-by told dispatch that somebody was about 200 yards from shore standing next to an ATV. The caller wasn’t sure if the person was waving his arms or not. Deputies arrived and determined that nobody needed help.
A pool shark had a turn of luck after someone found his stolen cues. A call came in about a gym bag full of cues that appear to be custom-made. The bag was in the trash along U.S. 2 East. Deputies tracked the cues to a man who had reported them stolen the previous day.
A River Butte Drive resident told deputies that she paid a contractor in full for some drywall repair. The contractor fell ill and never completed the work but reportedly would not return the money. Deputies advised the caller that she might have to go through small-claims court to retrieve her payment.
The Columbia Falls Police Department responded to a call about a woman who was harassing a checker at a Nucleus Avenue business. The woman was asked to leave by employees, but it took a police presence to fulfill that request.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made two DUI arrests on Thursday. One was on Irvine Flats Road and the other was on U.S. 93.
A Carnegie Drive resident went to the Kalispell Police Department with a report of “strange messages” on his phone.
Police received a call from an honest motorist who said that she had rear-ended a trailer pulled by a truck. The parties exchanged information, but the truck driver took off. Nobody was injured.
A man in a brown leather coat was reported to be checking door handles on South Main Street. The citizen who reported it followed the man in a vehicle while talking to police.
Another citizen followed a man who was reported to be looking through mailboxes near Denver Avenue and Sunnyside Drive. The man allegedly had a handgun.
Someone was pointing a red laser light at drivers near East California Street and Third Avenue, according to a report. The driver who reported it told police that she turned around and saw two girls run back into a house. Police contacted the parents of the girls.
