'Things are OK' after bar mishap

 The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 hang-up from a perturbed man on Gunsite Loop. The man said he called because he slipped and fell at a bar earlier, went to the hospital and that his mom, while driving him to his house, “was yelling at him and telling him to get out of her vehicle, as she is mad at him for getting hurt at her favorite bar,” but that “things are OK now.”

Karma finally caught up with teens in Columbia Falls who were reported by someone on Dawn Drive doing “brodies” in a county park — allegedly an ongoing problem — when their truck got stuck.

A driver on South Main Street in Kalispell was ruffled by another driver’s recklessness and complained about a white truck that was speeding, tailgating and changing lanes without using a turn signal, causing a five-gallon jug of diesel to fall out of the back of his pickup in Kalispell. The wild driver grabbed the jug and returned it to the other driver, explaining “how bad his driving was.” He allegedly said he was trying to get to work.

A concerned neighbor on Orchard Ridge Road said his neighbor “is neglecting their horse and it looks like it is going to starve.”

A man on East Evergreen Drive reported a broken window at his Kalispell business.

A woman on Hathaway Lane said her vehicle was towed by a wrecking company at her son’s request to salvage it for money although she did not authorize or give permission to do so. 

Someone on Conrad Drive in Kalispell reported four shots were fired while outside and advised it may be possible waterfowl hunters.

An Ashley Lake man said an unauthorized ad for a firearm and set of new snow tires listing his name and number was placed in a local shopper.

 The Kalispell Police Department received a report from East Montana Street of an injured deer burrowing down and not moving well under a tree after appearing to have been hit by a car. The deer eventually died; the Public Works Department was notified.

Extra patrol was requested on South Meridian Road and Second Street West because vehicles waiting to turn to pick up children were causing a road hazard.

A man who was out of town said that he didn’t want his ex to touch vehicles registered and titled in his name that were parked at Eighth Avenue West.

Love was unrequited on U.S. 2 when a man wearing saggy pants handed a scared underage girl a note and said “he could not help himself,” before wandering the parking lot in front of a beauty salon.

Someone on South Main Street called to report two men sitting on school stairs and one of the men was smoking a cigarette on school property. The men eventually left.

Criminal mischief was underway at Appleway Drive when a man discovered his vehicle allegedly packed full of snow and keyed along the passenger side.

Things became rowdy when eight people were seen screaming out in a yard, threatening to hit each other and accusing neighbors of stealing items on Third Street West. The parties were separated.

A man on East Washington Street reported the storage units of his apartments were broken into and when he went outside to smoke he saw two unfamiliar women in a car and a skinny man who walked up to the car and then took off.

A “beater-looking sedan” with weeds growing around it and now covered in snow was finally reported after allegedly sitting there for more than a year on Parkway Drive and Summit Ridge Road. Officers could only find a vehicle on private property.

A man on Empire Loop said someone gained access “to his banking” and was stalking him through it.

 

A woman on Third Avenue East North told the Columbia Falls Police Department that her husband’s hand was bitten by a dog that’s “not usually mean.”

Fraud was reported by a woman on Sixth Avenue East North who said a check written to an attorney for $150 was allegedly changed to $717.

 

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Old Morris Trail.
