A concerned citizen called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday morning around 5 a.m. when she saw a car stop in the driveway at her neighbor’s house. A person got out of the vehicle, walked up the driveway, and then got back in the car and repeated his actions at the next house. The caller thought this was suspicious, but was reassured when dispatch told her it was likely the newspaper carrier.

A Kalispell woman reported that a license plate was stolen off of her camper.

A man living on Park Avenue in Evergreen reported that about $200 was stolen from his home and he believed it was a relative that took it.

Regular readers of the law roundup may find this call familiar: A man living on Beach Road in Bigfork — the one that likes to call in his “daily reports” to let police know what he’s doing, or sometimes thank officers for their duty, or more often to report that a SWAT team is out to get him — called Tuesday morning to report that he was going out. He also thanked the swing shift and night shift officers for their extra patrol.

A reckless driver in a black Saab was reported swerving “all over the road,” on U.S. 93 South near Kalispell on Tuesday afternoon. The caller said it appeared the woman was texting while driving.

A Kalispell business on Sunset Drive found drug paraphernalia, cellphones, prescription medications, tapes and Montana Department of Corrections paperwork lying in the yard Tuesday afternoon.

A Kila man reported that dogs have been trying to get after his goats and chickens.

An older man with dreadlocks who was possibly a transient was jumping in front of vehicles on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell on Tuesday and was almost hit.

A man went into a Ninth Street West store, ate four doughnuts and then just walked out. When Columbia Falls Police officers arrived, the man went back in and paid for the sweets and the store was OK with that and didn’t press charges.

Police had to intervene when an intoxicated couple were fighting early Wednesday.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on suspicion of DUI on Tuesday on 16th Avenue East. The subject refused on-site alcohol testing.

A woman called Kalispell Police on Wednesday morning saying that the roof on the house across the street from her looked like it was getting ready to cave in. Officers visited the house in question at 10th Avenue West and determined that it was an optical illusion.

A woman said when she entered the mall Tuesday, a man was sitting outside of the entrance, throwing a knife up in the air and catching it over and over again. It was still bothering her Wednesday, so she called police to let them know.

A possible DUI was called in on Wednesday when a Nissan pickup was seen swerving all over the road. Police made contact with the driver, who said he’d been taking some medication that he thought was affecting him — as well as texting while driving — but he parked the truck and had someone coming to pick him up.

A younger man got away with two bags of food and a drink when police couldn’t locate him after he stole from a Third Avenue East North store Wednesday.

A woman caught shoplifting at a Hutton Ranch Road store Tuesday caused a bit of a scene when she threatened store security after she’d been caught. She was arrested.

Baby mama drama required police intervention Tuesday. Two women each have children with the same man, and one woman had allegedly been sending the other harassing messages on Facebook. She then escalated to calling her and threatening her as well as calling her place of employment.

A man was allegedly requesting nude pictures from a 14-year-old girl.

A man called saying he was being harassed by another man at the bus stop Tuesday night. He then told dispatch if he kept being harassed that he would “get a gun and blow his head off if he kept bothering him.”

Store employees thought they caught a woman shoplifting early Wednesday when they witnessed a woman put cheese in her pocket. She ended up paying for it before she left.
