Glacier girls, boys rout Libby on hardwood

Three Wolfpack players scored in double figures as Glacier routed Libby at home for a 69-27 nonconference girls basketball victory on Tuesday night.

Hailee Bennett, Katie Wiley and Tessa Krueger scored 18, 12 and 10 points respectively.

“It was a pretty solid offense game. Everyone kind of played pretty solid and contributed tonight,” Glacier head coach Kris Salonen said.

“It was nice to get Tessa scoring, and Katie didn’t just score , but she created some things for herself tonight too.

Wiley and Krueger, who both finished 5 for 7 from the floor, each added three steals to their effort.

“Just like any nonconference game, each week we try to focus on what we need to do to get better.  We pressed more tonight than we have because we just needed to see what we can do and what we need to work on in that sense,” Salonen said.

The Lady Loggers shot just 25 percent from the field and trailed at the half 30-12.

Hailey Craig paced Libby with a team-high eight points. Shannon Reny scored five while Shyla Stevenson and Dayln Germany each added four.

Libby travels to Thompson Falls on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.

Glacier hosts Lake City (Idaho) on Saturday for a nonconference matchup at 3 p.m.

EUREKA — Lana Berg score 21 points and Miranda Campbell had 19 as Bigfork pulled away from Eureka for a District 7B conference victory.

Berg added seven rebounds as the Valkyries overcame a halftime deficit to outscore Eureka 25-16 in the second half.

Amanda Peterson had 16 points to lead the Lions.

The Wolfpack jumped out to a devastating 26-5 first quarter lead and cruised to a 67-26 home nonconference victory on Tuesday night.

Taden Gilman led all scorers, finishing 4 for 5 from the floor and a perfect 2 for 2 from the free-throw line for his game-high 12 points.

Jaxen Hashley added 11 points and a game-high six rebounds.

The Loggers’ Jonny Cielak tallied nine points, all of which came from behind the arc as the junior guard shot 3 for 5 from the 3-point line. Collin Johnson added eight points fro Libby.

Glacier is back in action on Saturday for a home nonconference matchup agianst Lake City (Idaho) at 5 p.m. in Kalispell.

Libby hits the road to take on Thompson Falls at 6 p.m. on Friday.

WHITEFISH — Led by BJ Bach’s game-high 20 points, the Stilwater Christian School Cougars defeated Whitefish JV.

Isaac Nuemann and Clayton Hashley also reached double figures for the Cougars with Nuemann netting 10 points and Hashley 12.

The Bulldogs were led by Matt Brewer, who scored a team-high 13 points. Sawyer Silliker earned 12 points and Gauge Anderson added 11.
