Ronald G. 'Ron' Spencer, 78

Ronald G. “Ron" Spencer, 78, of Whitefish, passed away Jan. 17, 2015, from complications due to cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends in his final days.  

Ron was born April 28, 1936, to George and Margaret Spencer in Brainerd, Minnesota. His younger years were spent in Washington until he retired in 1997, at which time Ron and Linda moved to Whitefish, where he loved to camp, fish and hunt. 

A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, Ron will be missed in a great way by many people. 

Ron’s family would like to thank all the many wonderful people who were there for Ron and his whole family. 

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Linda; daughters, Rhonda Spencer, Vickie Newberry and Tammy Akers, their children and grandchildren. Also surviving are Ron’s stepsons, Scott Kirklin and Mark Kirklin, their children and grandchildren.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Moose Lodge No. 642, 230 10th St. W., Whitefish, MT 59937.  

Visitation for Ron will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Glacier Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at the Whitefish Moose Lodge.
