Mexican mystery reaches to Flathead

The Florida Highway Patrol received emails from a Flathead County woman who claimed to be in a Mexican prison. The Florida authorities reported the emails to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, which checked the last known local address for the woman, and found she had not lived there in over a year. Her family reported she was indeed last known to be in Mexico and that she had “serious” mental issues. Family members living in Tennessee are working with the U.S. consulate to find the woman and secure treatment for her. 

Dispatch received a call from a woman stating that her neighbor on Lake Blaine Road in Kalispell hit her husband in the face. The two men reportedly starting arguing before things escalated. Responding officers helped sort the conflict out. 

A man working for an insurance company in Kalispell had just declined a claim for a customer when the customer pulled out a revolver and started loading it in front of the insurance worker, asking again if he was going to deny the claim. The customer, however, reportedly then unloaded the gun and handed it to the insurance worker. 

Trespassers were reported to be illegally harvesting wood from private property on Schrade Road. The caller wanted a strange truck on neighbors’ property checked out by officers. On second look, the caller thought the vehicle was supposed to be there. 

A gun and several other items were taken from a home on Danielson Road. The person reporting the incident found a pawn slip from a local business. 

A housekeeper is suspected of stealing prescription drugs and some money from a residence in Hungry Horse. 

A large St. Bernard mix dog without a collar was picked up on Montana 83 near Bigfork. The dog was taken to the county shelter. 

A woman reported seeing a small airplane high in the air near Blanchard Lake Road in Whitefish. The woman heard the engines cut out, then said she saw the plane go into a nose dive and disappear behind the treeline. Officers responding to the area did not see any signs of a plane crash. 


 

Columbia Falls Police Department responded to a report that kids were snowboarding off the roof of a house on Nucleus Avenue. The caller reporting the incident said there were “no trespassing” signs, but not any “no snowboarding” signs. 

 


 

A call to the Kalispell Police Department reported a man and woman fighting in an apartment on Second Avenue East. The caller said the couple were “slamming each other around,” and had a baby in the apartment. Responding officers found the couple having a verbal altercation, but neither party was distressed or appeared to have been in a physical confrontation. 

A woman on Appleway Drive reported seeing a man dressed in black circle the parking lot of an apartment complex for several nights, and found the rubber trim on the window of her son’s truck pried loose. She requested additional patrols.
