Metalhead's bark worse than bite

The Kalispell Police Department was called about a man walking down Fifth Avenue East North screaming to metal music. The man, a repeat offender of this type of disturbance, said he didn’t mean to scare anybody.

A man in Missoula called to report his Kalispell friend had posted on Facebook he had been shot. It turns out he had done some shots, but none of the firearm variety.

A Windward Way man reportedly threatened his neighbor and her 7-year old daughter and shoved her to the ground. The woman claimed this was an ongoing issue with the man.

A man texted his ex-girlfriend a picture of a gun and message claiming he was going to take himself “out of this miserable world.” The man was taken in for a mental evaluation.


A Fifth Avenue West resident of Columbia Falls called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Department to report a dog wearing a harness that had spent the night on her porch before disappearing in the morning.

A caller reported several vehicles dumping belongings out, including sleeping bags and clothing.

A man near Beaver Lake was plowing a road when another man drove up. The man allegedly told the driver the road was impassable, which was apparently something to take offense to, as the other man got out of his vehicle and started shoving the plowman. He also reportedly brandished a snow shovel, so the plower left the scene and called the police.

An 11-year-old on Shady Lane in Kalispell called the police to report his mother wouldn’t let him speak to his father in Lincoln County.

An Ash Road woman called to report a bewildering situation in which two people barged into her apartment stating they were “taking over” for her roommate, who had been arrested the day before. Officers removed the two squatters and told them to talk to the landlord before enforcing their manifest destiny.

A Bear Trail man in Whitefish called authorities after his neighbor allegedly broke into his house and assaulted him. The suspect, a 13-year-old boy, didn’t leave when the victim said he’d get his gun — which he couldn’t find. Officers picked up the teen, who had apparently forgotten that the legal drinking age was 21.


A Central Avenue resident called the Whitefish Police Department after an ex-boyfriend allegedly stole and damaged things at their former shared residence. She did not want him on the property.

A Flathead Avenue man called the police to complain about the parking situation for the skijoring event.

A similar call came in about the incredible congestion and parking problems causing accidents where people were illegally parked. Local towing companies had a good day.


The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest for driving under the influence at a large resort in Polson.
