Melanie Jean Hunt, 39

Melanie Jean Hunt, 39, of Somers, passed away at her home of natural causes on Jan. 28, 2015. 

Melanie was born in Deer Lodge on March 27, 1975, to Douglas Hunt and Victoria Briggs. 

Melanie was raised in Deer Lodge but later in her life she moved to Kalispell to be near her mother. 

Melanie had three children, a great sense of humor, and was a loving mother, friend and daughter who loved peacocks. She was always happy and fun to be around. She cared deeply for her friends and had such a big heart; she would do anything for them. 

Melanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerald and Helen Briggs; and cousins, Aaron Cuchine and Jesse Clappen. 

She is survived by her children, Justin Grobb, Courtney Ogdon and Dale Ogdon; parents, Douglas Hunt Sr. and Victoria Briggs; brother, Douglas Hunt Jr.; sisters, Devon Hunt, Morgan Hunt and Laura Hunt; cousins, Brian Cuchine, Michael Cuchine and Tina Lint; grandma, Joy Bauman; grandpa, Darrel Bauman; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.  

A visitation will be held from noon to service time on Monday, Feb. 2, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in Deer Lodge. There will be a reception immediately following the burial at Scotty’s bar in Deer Lodge.
