Woman airlifted after Glacier fall

A woman who fell down an embankment Friday in Glacier National Park is in stable condition after being airlifted to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Park spokeswoman Denise Germann said Friday afternoon that park rangers found the woman by herself at about 11:30 a.m. at Running Eagle Falls in the Two Medicine area on the east side of the park.

She was unresponsive but breathing and was taken by ambulance to a landing zone, where the ALERT medical helicopter transported her to Kalispell.

A hospital official confirmed that the woman was in stable condition with minor injuries.


The Whitefish Police Department received a call from someone who was concerned about people practicing medicine without medical licenses and wanted police to look into it. The caller said their friend, who died five months ago, had received New Age medical treatment from someone in the area.

A man on Stonecrop Lane said saw a black bear eating trash from a trash container. The bear allegedly knocked over more than one container in the area.

A woman on Baker Avenue told police that her roommate needed anger management therapy because he gets “verbally nasty when drinking.”

An upset man on Central Avenue said kids destroyed the inside of his house and stole his bike. He said his house keys were also missing.

A large flower pot was stolen on Park Avenue.

A vehicle window on Kalispell Avenue was “smashed out” but nothing appeared stolen inside.

A stray three-legged dog has been spotted in someone’s yard on Colorado Avenue every morning for the past week.

The haphazard parking of vehicles prevented a bus from parking correctly in a handicapped area on U.S. 93 South.

Someone on East Lakeshore Drive complained of fireworks.  


Columbia Falls Police Department received a report from someone on Third Street East stating they almost ran over a naked 2-year-old in the street.

Someone on Second Avenue West reported a stolen firearm.

A woman on Second Street West said two individuals were trespassing on her property.

Firecrackers and bottle rockets were going off behind a woman’s house on Martha Road. Police advised the people that fireworks were not allowed within city limits.


Whitefish Fire Department responded to a fire on Star Meadows Road. The department also responded to a gas odor on River Lakes Parkway.


West Valley Fire Department responded to a brush fire on KM Ranch Road.


Creston Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Lake Blaine Road.


South Kalispell Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Patrick Creek Road.
