Legion baseball: Schlepp, LakersA sweep Rangers

EUREKA — Haydn Schlepp is clutch.

The Kalispell catcher smacked back-to-back game-winning hits to lead the Lakers A to a sweep of the Kootenai Valley Rangers on Monday night.

With the opening game tied at three in the top of the seventh, Dawson Smith led off with a double before scoring on Schlepp’s single.

Jonas Nyman pitched a scorless bottom half to earn the complete-game victory.

In the night cap, the Rangers tied the game at two in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.

Schlepp slapped a triple to drive in Gunnar Marsh in the ninth that stood for the winning run.
