CALGARY, Alberta — West Glacier bull rider Beau Hill was bucked off Jett in the third round of Pool B competition on Thursday at the Calgary Stampede, failing to point a ride for the second straight day.

Hill rode for an 84.5-point ride to earn $1,500 on the first day of pool competition but has been bucked off twice to fall to eighth place in the standings.

Oklahoma’s Sage Kimzey, the only rider to point all three days, is in the lead with $11,000, posting the second-best ride of the third-round with 85.5 points atop Compton Bound. Stetson Lawrence of Williston, North Dakota, scored the highest-point ride for the second straight day to pull into a tie for first at $11,000 earned, riding Big Red for 89 points. Lawrence scored an event-high 89.5-point ride on Wednesday.

Only four cowboys rode all eight seconds in the third round, with Texas’ Chandler Bownds riding I’m a Gangsta for 85 points and Canada’s Ty Pozzobon riding Pretty Wreckless for 83.5 points.

Entering the final day of Pool B competition, Utah’s Wesley Silcox is in third place earning $7,500 in the first two rounds. Former PBR world champion and two-time Calgary Stampede winner J.B. Mauney is tied for fourth with PBR veteran Guilherme Marchi with $7,000 earned.

The top cowboys after Friday’s final round of Pool B competition will compete on Sunday for a chance at a $100,000 prize.
