Naked man exposes criminal activity

A man exposed suspicious activity on Riverwood Lane to Columbia Falls Police Department when he saw two cars  and people running around near a construction site. The person called police again to report that when a patrol car came up to the suspect’s cars the people ran away and hid across the street. The man said he would meet with officers, but he was naked. Two people among the group were cited for minor in possession.

Daycare workers on Talbot Road spotted a dog lying on the roadway. It was believed the dog had been hit by a car and was taken to the animal hospital. The dog had an injured leg and was later transported to the Flathead County Animal Shelter.

An scared woman on Second Avenue East locked herself in her house to avoid a 24-year-old man who allegedly kept coming back to the house and being aggressive with her. This time, the man was in the garage getting his belongings. He apparently was part of a group of “kids” the woman had kicked out of her house a couple of days ago.

A man was drunk and passed out at a drive-through window on Ninth Street West.

A woman was seen pacing in front of a woman’s Third Avenue East residence for ten minutes.

A man called police to report another man was pacing in front of his Crescent Drive residence. The caller believed this was the same man that burgled his house before. The caller, who had children in the house, was concerned the man was casing his house and may have been on meth. The caller said the man “hides near the railroad.”

An upset mother on U.S. 2 East said one of two dogs involved in a fight bit her daughter’s arm.


More than “F-bombs” were being thrown around during what was described as a fight in a Dakota Avenue residence to Whitefish Police Department. It was discerned not to be a verbal disturbance, but a “neighborly” dispute.

It wasn’t as easy as taking candy from a baby when suspicious men ran away after seeing a passerby. The passerby called police and said the men took items out of a business. One of the men reportedly had a crib mattress in his possession.

A woman — who was going through a divorce — wanted to change the locks on her and her husband’s East Second Street apartment so that her husband would move out. She was advised that she couldn’t change the locks without the landlord’s permission or a court order because they were still legally married and both of their names were on the lease.

The driver of a tow-truck type vehicle reported hitting a deer on Dakota Avenue and the deer had an injured leg. Someone on West Second Street later reported seeing a deer with a broken leg.

Someone on Wisconsin Avenue wanted police to make sure a deer, that a man had dragged off the roadway, was dead.

A vehicle that hit a power pole at McCaffery Lake Road and Echo Lake Road caused a temporary road closure Saturday afternoon because power lines were down across the roadway.


Polson Police Department made an arrest for criminal contempt in Kwataqnuk.

A shoplifter at a gas station was arrested.

A simple assault was reported at Lake View Village.


Coram-West Glacier Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on U.S. 2 East in Coram. The fire department later responded to a grass/brush/wildland fire.


Marion Fire Department responded to an illegal burn.


Kalispell Fire Department responded to an illegal burn on 11th Avenue West.


Smith Valley Fire Department investigated outside smoke on Log Cabin Lane.
