Male suitor needs new pickup line

A man wearing swimming trunks as shorts made an unwelcomed date proposal to a woman on Armory Road. He reportedly asked the woman to get dinner and then “sleep in his truck.” The woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

A Mountain Drive resident told authorities some neighbors had been dumping horse and pig manure at the end of the road. 

A few unlocked vehicles were “sifted through” on Fifth Street East in Hungry Horse. Some electronic items were reported missing.

A brown Pekingese dog showed up at a Peaceful Drive home and wouldn’t leave. Animal Control took it to the shelter.

While riding his bicycle on Mountain Road, two men pulled up alongside him. One of them pulled out a gun and ordered the cyclist to get on the ground, according to the report. Deputies detained the man with the gun.

A Honda car was reported stolen from a U.S. 2 location near Kalispell.

Someone found a rifle at the bottom of a creek near the Bear Creek area.

There was a complaint of someone smoking marijuana at an area boat launch.

Deputies arrested a man for domestic assault after a woman said the man hit her in the head.

An “extremely” drunken woman was trying to call her cousin via 411 but accidentally dialed 911.

A reportedly physical argument stemmed from a dispute over an iPad, according to one caller. The offending man was described as wearing a smiley face T-shirt.

Multiple vehicles, including a “Jeep-thing,” were being boisterous in a Canyon Road neighborhood, according to a report. A second report about the same party was made later that night.


 

The Hungry Horse Fire Department responded to a quarter-acre fire on the south end of town. It was last reported to be smoldering.


 

According to a report to the Kalispell Police Department, a dog fell out from the back of a truck and was dragged near North Main Street.

A small dog with a red collar was found and taken to the shelter.

Multiple people were cited and released after they were reported to be smoking marijuana in a parked car on Fifth Avenue West.

A man said that several weeks ago, he crashed his car into a ditch near Northern Lights Boulevard. He didn’t remember how he got home after the incident, but he left the car there. At the time of the call, he was having trouble finding the car.

Some panhandlers on Hutton Ranch Road reportedly had five children in tow.

An unruly 8-year-old reportedly punched the caller and ran over his brother with a bicycle.

An apparent 21-year-old threatened a North Meridian Road shopkeeper who refused to sell alcohol to the intoxicated customer.

At least one youth was arrested following a report of a loud underage party on Ninth Avenue West.

One nervous caller said that three people were waiting for him with tire irons outside of an Airport Road bar.

There were some apparent picketers outside of a church on Second Avenue East. They eventually moved along.

There was a heist of sunglasses from a North Main Street business. They possibly ended up at a pawn shop.


 

A pastor contacted the Whitefish Police Department to report lewd phone calls that had been coming into the church.

About $1,100 was stolen from two unlocked vehicles on Birch Point Drive, but they were Canadian dollars.

A parking complaint led to five citations on Washington Avenue.

Officers tracked down the source of some launched fireworks near Haugen Heights. They were advised to stop.


 

One caller told the Columbia Falls Police Department she lost her out-of-state driver’s license and had a flight to catch. She narrowed down the search to Whitefish, Kalispell or Columbia Falls.
