Intruder leaves unpleasant gift

A property caretaker on Middle Pierce Lane told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office it appeared someone used the key under the mat to enter the home without permission. Nothing was reported stolen or damaged, but both bathrooms were used and not flushed. That left behind a pungent odor, among other things.

A “very loud” vehicle stirred a Helena Flats resident from sleep.

A man claimed his wife’s son “hacked” their computer, leaving them without access to email. A deputy helped to remedy the situation.

A neighborhood dog was leaving a “mess” in a Creek Side Court resident’s yard, according to a report.

Deputies searched for suspects in an alleged laptop theft from a U.S. 2 business.

An Airport Road resident let a man who was released from jail stay at her house. She accused him of stealing a video game upon leaving the following day.

A deputy asked five transients who built a fire near a bicycle path near Ramsey Avenue to move along.

A previously stolen revolver was reportedly found at a pawn shop.

Deputies arrested a man on Montclair Drive who had a warrant for drug possession.


The Montana Highway Patrol responded to a head-on collision Thursday afternoon on U.S. 93 near Raceway Park. One woman, reportedly six months pregnant, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


The Whitefish Police Department responded to a parking dispute in a Baker Avenue alley. The woman made the initial call, but halfway through the man “took the phone” from her and gave his side of the story.

Someone sold a vehicle a while back and thought that it was “for parts.” Recently, that man received a parking ticket based on the license plate he left on the car.


A “large hole” left in the ground by a construction crew was deemed hazardous, according to one caller to the Columbia Falls Police Department. An officer noted this was on private property.

One woman was driving on Ninth Street West and said that another woman yelled at her from the side of the road. The caller didn’t know who the woman was, but guessed she was specifically 27 years old.
