Neighbor becomes power hungry

One Grigg Road neighbor was reportedly making a power move on another. A resident told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that things got heated when a neighbor plugged into his “power source.”

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle on U.S. 2 East near Kalispell. The thieves reportedly tore off the sunroof to gain access.

There was a report of someone going through a man’s possessions at a Montclair Drive business. He told authorities that the snooper left a cellphone behind.

A previously stolen vehicle was found between Blankenship and Coram, at the bottom of an embankment.

A dog reportedly escaped from the county shelter. It was eventually found and returned.

Someone reported a dog on Lake Loop Road that was chasing a bicyclist. The dog’s owner said it has been tough to contain the pup because people keep feeding it treats.

A man told a woman on an online messenger that he would pay off her credit card bills. The woman gave out her credit card information and later felt that it was a fraud.

Someone who reported a motorcycle was stolen from Eighth Avenue West eventually found it around the corner and down the alley.

Some workers at a Montana 35 business caught a suspected burglar and only knew the suspect by the name of “Drifter.”

Someone on Maxine Drive told authorities some neighbor kids were pushing a tractor to their house. The tractor apparently belonged to a separate neighbor who recently passed away.

A witness at a Bigfork resort said some kids nearly hit a boat while jumping off of a bridge. Then the caller saw a rope and opined that the kids might “hang themselves.” They eventually just rode away on their bicycles.

A passerby on Blankenship Road stopped to investigate a parked car with its lights on. Close by was a shirtless man with blood on his face. The witness said he seemed intoxicated. Deputies detained him.


An employee of a Baker Avenue business told the Whitefish Police Department he saw a man crawl out of an alley trash bin. This was the second time he had to witness this.

Columbia Avenue was the scene of a multi-block egging.

An O’Brien Avenue resident said there were so many vehicles in the area her front door was blocked.

No one was injured but citations were issued in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 93 south.

There was a report that a man entered a U.S. 93 casino with “a lot of money.” Later, he went outside and was reportedly acting odd. An officer met with the man and determined him to be OK.


A Columbia Falls Police Department officer picked up a loose husky-type dog on Ninth Street West and brought it to the station. The owner later came to retrieve it.

An ongoing “peeping Tom” was reported near Wildcat Drive.
