Porch second in State Men's Am golf
GREAT FALLS — Tom Swanson of Missoula was a wire-to-wire winner at the 2015 Montana State Men’s Amateur golf tournament at Meadow Lark Country Club.
The three-day event ended Saturday.
Swanson, who will be a junior at the University of Michigan in the fall, shot 65-66-70—201 for a 15-under par total and a seven-shot victory over Ryan Porch of Kalispell.
Porch shot 69-68-71—208.
Porch was tied for second the first two days.
Payton Taylor of Hamilton, 71-66-73—210, was third; Jake Hedge of Billings, 74-72-68—214, was fourth and Bill Dunn of Missoula, 69-70-76—215, was fifth along with Brandon McIver of Billings, 72-68-75—215.
Those were the only golfers to finish the 54-hold event under par.
Mark Mance of Whitefish, 74-73-70—217, tied for seventh.
Shawn Tucker of Whitefish, 72-73-73—218, tied for 11th.
