Louise I. Morrow, 88

Louise I. Morrow, 88, passed away Feb. 28, 2015. surrounded by her family.

Louise was born on March 28, 1926, in Wauzeka, Wisconsin, to Herbert and Pearl (Trappe) Vaughan.

During World War II, she was a secretary at the U.S. Navy dry docks in Long Beach, California. While there, she met a Marine on a bus. He invited her to have a drink at a rest stop, and she fell in love with him when he ordered milk and referred to his father as daddy.

After his honorable discharge, she came to Kalispell and they were married Jan. 5, 1946. Harold and Louise made their home in Kalispell, raising their four children. She enjoyed a career as a rural mail carrier. Leisure time was filled with camping and hunting and hours of playing cards.

After her husband passed away in 1985, she spent her spare time volunteering at Kalispell Regional Hospital, American Red Cross, Kalispell Eagles and traveling to jazz festivals.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Robert Vaughan and Herbert Vaughan; her husband, Harold Morrow; her son, John Morrow; and her son-in-law, Cecil Main.

Louise is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Main, and Jean and Dan Stetler, and son Bob and Kelly Morrow, all of Kalispell; and daughter-in-law, Randee Morrow, of Lakeside. She is also survived by her five granddaughters, Michelle Beck of Kalispell, Maren and Aaron King of Bigfork, Sarah and Dan Fjheld, Jemma Morrow, and Julia Morrow, all of Kalispell. Her great-grandchildren, Sadee and Jonathan King, and Gabe Fjheld, along with many nieces and nephews, also survive her.

A visitation will be held for Louise from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, with services to be held at 10 a.m. March 5 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, followed by interment at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Friends are invited to join us at the family home for a reception following the service and interment.
