Northwest A basketball: Polson tops Frenchtown

WHITEFISH — Andrew Curley scored 19 of his game-high 26 points in the second half to rally Polson past Frenchtown 52-42 on Monday night in a Northwest A divisional boys basketball challenge game at Whitefish High School.

The victory advances Polson to the Class A state tournament in Bozeman on March 12-14.

Polson trailed at the half 26-21 and 36-31 heading into the final eight minutes.

Curley, who had three 3s in the third quarter and one in the first, hit two more in the fourth to finish with six. He added two more field goals in the fourth quarter as Polson outscored the Broncs 21-6.

Polson attempted 14 free throws in the final period, connecting on seven.

Tanner Wilson added two field goals for the Pirates in the last quarter. Payton Lefthand tallied 10 points for Polson.

Bridger Truett topped Frenchtown with 19 points. Austin Means followed with 15.
