Resident displeased with tree trim

| March 5, 2015 8:18 PM

Perhaps possessed by the spirit of early spring cleaning, a 30-year-old man was reported to be up in a tree on Liberty Street, hacking off branches with a hatchet. Not enthused with the trim, the property owner called the Kalispell Police Department. The man was identified as a neighbor’s son, and police advised him to leave the tree alone.

Police initially were unable to find a transient reported on Fourth Avenue East North. They did find evidence that the person had defecated in a parking lot. An officer eventually found the woman, who was a suspect in a prior theft.

When police caught up with a woman suspected of stealing beer on Third Avenue East North, she said she wanted to be arrested.

New tenants at a Fifth Avenue West residence reported a deceased dog in the basement.

A First Avenue East North resident told police that a semi-truck had been loudly running for two hours behind the building. The driver was sleeping and keeping the truck running for warmth.

A resident of Second Avenue West reported that someone had thrown rocks through the window and broke them.

A driver for a private transport company called police because the keys were locked in the vehicle with the engine running. Moreover, the driver had just picked up a patient from the hospital, who was also locked inside and couldn’t open the doors for the driver. Before police could arrive, the driver received assistance to get into the vehicle.

The Flathead County Office of Emergency Services reported trouble with its media report distribution system.
