Billings West first test for Glacier girls at state

Glacier (17-4) will open Class AA state girls basketball tournament action on Thursday at the Butte Civic Center with a 6:30 p.m. matchup with Billings West (11-10).

Glacier, the third seed from Western AA, defeated Missoula Hellgate 57-30 last week in a state play-in game at Glacier.

West, the second seed from Eastern AA, won its play-in game over Butte 68-27.

The state tournament runs through Saturday.

Glacier lost in the semifinals at state last year and finished fourth.

Missoula Sentinel girls and Helena Capital boys are defending state champions.
