E.D. 'Corkey' Morehead, 86

E.D. “Corkey” Morehead, 86, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

He was born in Angora, Nebraska, to Elmer and Olga (Miller) Morehead.

Corkey and his wife had varied involvement in agriculture and business. Ranging from wheat farming near Alliance, Nebraska, a cattle and a guest ranch near Fishtail, Montana, business interest in a tire company in Billings, and in 1975, moved to Polson, where he operated a cherry and apple orchard until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jeane Morehead; and a daughter, Barbara Jeane Morehead.

He is survived by three of his children, David Roy and Helen Morehead, Janet Morehead and Steven "Gus" Gustuson, and  E. Daniel Morehead; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Corkey will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, at the Lake Funeral Home in Polson. Burial will be private by the family.
