Class B girls state basketball: Valkyries fall in OT to Manhattan

GREAT FALLS — Manhattan outscored Bigfork 9-5 in overtime to claim the 54-50 loser-out victory at the Class B girls state basketball tournament on Friday afternoon.

Manhattan also outscored Bigfork 16-12 in the fourth quarter to rally and force overtime at Four Seasons Arena.

Brooke Jones led Manhattan with her double-double — 19 points and 12 rebounds. She also had seven steals and blocked two shots.

Savannah Carr and Sophia Wass both tallied 12 points for the Tigers.

Bigfork was led by Marissa Hiza and Mattison McAnally, 13 points each, and Katie Thomas added 10.

It was second close-call setback for the Valkyries (18-6) at state. On Thursday they lost to Colstrip, 55-50.
