Was his pot o' gold missing? Just wondering

 Wearing a jacket with neon-green sleeves, a man was reportedly yelling at people and being “aggressive” in a North Main Street parking lot. Kalispell Police caught up with and counseled the man. No charges were filed for the green jacket. No word on the man’s height or whether he answered to the name “Lucky.”

A truck that had been parked in a Seventh Avenue East neighborhood was gone after the weekend but left a mysterious toolbox behind. A resident asked police to check it out.

After running out of gas, a man reportedly left his vehicle at a U.S. 2 West business. Twelve days later, he returned to find that it had been towed. He called policeto report the situation, and an officer probably explained to him that you can’t leave a vehicle at a business  for 12 days.

Police dispatch received a call about two reckless vehicles going down Airport Road. When the dispatch asked for more information, the caller reportedly got upset, said “forget it” and hung up.

One man called police because his brother was allegedly saying “mean things” about his girlfriend.


 Recent transplants to a Kalispell-area neighborhood called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to ask if they’d moved to a safe neighborhood. According to the record, the new arrivals weren’t sure because they had seen law enforcement around several times. Dispatch advised the caller that they were in a safe area. Going out on a limb, one likely reason is because law enforcement is around. 

Four-wheelers had been “tearing up” some property near U.S. 2 East, according to a report. The caller was working on more “no trespassing” signs but requested extra patrols in the meantime.

Horses were running loose down First Street West North in Columbia Falls.

A cat belonging to a Butte resident had been staying at a home along Montana 35, but when the kitty caretaker went to jail, the Butte resident called to find out if her cat was OK. County animal control found out that the cat was missing.

A white Jeep was reported to be loud and spinning doughnuts near Red Bridge Road. The caller reported that the Jeep got stuck during the apparent joyride. 

Deputies responded to a suspected vehicle break-in, but it wasn’t what it appeared to be. The caller reported that a car on Montana 209 had a window broken out and a steering column torn apart. Deputies got in touch with the registered owner, who said that she broke the window out and tinkered with the steering column herself in an attempt to get the vehicle started.

The sheriff’s office said that a four-wheel-drive and a wet suit would be needed to retrieve a recovered stolen vehicle on Clark Drive.


A concerned citizen called the Columbia Falls Police Department about a toddler who was standing in a mud puddle. No parents appeared to be around, so the caller went out and stood with the child until the mother showed up.
