Courtney (Calvert) Ebaugh, 92

Courtney (Calvert) Ebaugh, 92, passed away March 9, 2015, in Lewistown.

She was born to Bill and Agnes Calvert of Stockett, Montana, on Feb, 28, 1923, in Great Falls. The family later moved to Trego. She completed her schooling in Eureka in 1938.

In 1942, she married Vernon W. Gregoroff. they had one son, Vernon T. Gregoroff.

She lost Vernon in 1944 during World War II; he was buried in France. She married Matt Stoken of Graves Creek, Montana, in 1946. They traveled to different states while Matt worked as a plumber and pipe fitter. They also sold Christmas trees for many years. She was a secretary and model while living in Pasco, Washington. Matt passed away in 1969. 

She worked at the Eureka Drug Store until she met and married Harold Ebaugh in 1971. She welcomed his children Jon “Buck” and Lana to the family. She continued to sell Christmas trees with her son Tom (Vernon) as Courtney’s Evergreens in Havre. Harold passed away in 2006. She then moved to Laurel with son Tom and his wife LuAnne.

Courtney was very active in Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and getting the Rural Interbell telephone company started in Eureka. She made numerous trips to Washington, D.C., on the company’s behalf. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and berry picking in her spare time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Agnes; and two brothers Lorne and Lyle.

She is survived by her son Tom and daughter-in-law LuAnne; three grandchildren, Tammy, Vern and Brandi; eight great-grandchildren, Bridget, Levi, McKenzie, Kal, Conner, Cole, Charlie and Logan; four great-great-grandchildren, Colt, Kimber, Dakota and Cooper; one brother, Keith, and Goldie Calvert; one sister, Wilberta Calvert; numerous nieces and nephews; and stepchildren and their families.

Memorial services will take place at a later date.
