Elvira Sollid was born in Flaxton, North Dakota, on Jan. 25, 1914, and passed away peacefully in Woodburn, Oregon, on Feb. 22, 2015. She had just celebrated her 101st birthday only three weeks earlier before she left us.

Elvira worked as a clerk stenographer for several government agencies in Montana. That is where she met her future husband, Al, who worked in the same office as a civil engineer. Elvira married Allan Sollid in Billings on June 16, 1939. They were happily married for 72 years. Allan passed away in November of 2011.

Elvira is survived by one son, one daughter, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Her family feels so blessed to have had her with us for these many years. We would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Country Meadows Courtside for all their kind, compassionate care of our mom. We also want to say thank you to Willamette Valley Hospice for their wonderful care during Mom's last days.

Elvira was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Woodburn and a member of the Women's Circle for over 30 years. Elvira made many everlasting friends at Immanuel Lutheran and we are most thankful for the love, support and caring that her friends there have shown to our family.

Arrangements were made through Crown Memorial Center in Salem, Oregon.

Memorials may be made to Little Lambs Preschool, Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1100 East Lincoln Street, Woodburn, OR 97071.
